Quilting 101:

Simple Star Quilt

Welcome to the wonderful world of quilting!  In this course, you will learn the timeless art of quilting on Stitchcraft’sTM classroom machines.  You will make your first quilt measuring approximately 48” x 48” (a perfect size for baby gifts!) using half-square triangles, a beginner-friendly sewing block that you’ll be able to use in a multitude of quilt layouts as you expand your quilting passion.  Start to finish, we will systematically work through each step of the quilt making process, showing you the proper techniques for cutting, piercing, assembling, basting, quilting, and binding your creation.  Your instructor will provide detailed guidance, and you will have plenty of time during class to practice and master these skills.  Your instructor has years of experience and loves working with eager students.

It is helpful if you already know how to thread and operate a sewing machine, but we can help you if you get stuck.  If you have never used a sewing machine, or could use a refresher, we recommend starting with our Sewing 101 class first.

**Students must bring the required materials and tools to each class in this course. Please review the complete supply list before your first session.
